I'm mostly looking forward to being able to edit video with ease.
It's lightening fast. And things that took minutes now take seconds.
I believe I have accurately gauged the demand for paper handouts on the legal aspects of web publishing that we will be discussing over the next few classes. But if I have not, you can find links to everything here.
If you want even more please go to the COMP6023 resources page.
Today's class was a tutorial. We looked at dithering questions from the set of sample questions.
Working out the weighted average of the RGB values is easy enough. But generating a dithering pattern from a patent and a target simulated colour, is a bit trickier.
Students should expect a dithering question on the summer exam.
We looked at sub-optimal block matching algorithms (BMAs) for motion compensated video compression. I got the feeling that students weren't especially interested in this.
Students worked on the assignments. I am keen for students to finish soon. There is no reason to delay. Students already have all the information they need to complete all the assignments.
