We looked at bits and combinations of bits, and how they can be assigned meaning. We looked at how bits can be used to represent integers.

I asked students to discuss in groups what kinds of things they think are appropriate for publication and to discuss their personal privacy preferences.

Fewer students came to class than I was expecting. I don't know if that was a good sign or a bad sign.
